Castro City

Mountain View's Castro City neighborhood is a tight-knit residential community of families and retirees, many who have lived here their entire lives. Located near Rengstorff Park, this small residential neighborhood has a cosmopolitan vibe and is close to downtown Mountain View and Los Altos.

Mayfield

The Mayfield community is often referred to as Palo Alto's second downtown. Mayfield is the older of the two communities, but it has since been incorporated into the Palo Alto city limits. Hosting numerous multi-unit dwellings as well as single family homes, Mayfield boasts various locally owned eateries and bars, including Antonio's Nut House and Caffe Riace. Sarah Wallis Park offers a place for locals to relax and meet others. Mayfield has a diverse population with a variety of ages, income levels, and cultures being represented.

Ventura

Located in Palo Alto, CA., Ventura is home to the city's historic African-American community. It is a residential neighborhood that features an eclectic mix of homes in a variety of architectural styles. It is located northeast of El Camino Real giving visitors easy access to restaurants and other activities.

Professorville

Professorville, located in Palo Alto, is south of San Francisco. Stanford Stadium, Stanford Arboretum, and Maples Pavilion are all located in the area. Stanford University is nearby as well as several restaurants, shops, and hotels. The area is known for the homes built by Stanford University professors.

Lindenwood

The Lindenwood community in Atherton, California, is one of the most affluent cities of its size in the state. Residents gather for their annual homeowners' meeting, enjoy a variety of refreshments, and are entertained by the high school jazz band. This is a cohesive community that decorates for Christmas, welcomes new residents, and keeps an eye on their neighbors' homes while they are away. Most of the people who live in Lindenwood shop in the nearby Menlo Park.

Heritage District

The Heritage District in Sunnyvale features a revitalized downtown with restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. This community is flanked by Mathilda Ave., California Ave., Fair Oaks Blvd., and Old San Francisco Rd. You'll find a variety of residential options, including single-family homes and multi-unit dwellings in the Heritage District. Some of the favorite eateries include DishDash, Inchin's Bamboo Garden, and Kabul Afghan Cuisine.
