Temescal

Temescal, located in Oakland, is a neighborhood near the San Francisco Bay. The neighborhood is known for Telegraph Avenue, which runs through the area, and for being a popular dining destination. Many Ethiopian restaurants are in the area, as well as Korean restaurants, and the Temescal farmers market. A community pool, pubs, and a branch of the Oakland Public Library can all be found in the neighborhood.

Piedmont Avenue

Piedmont Avenue, located in Oakland, is one of the oldest business districts in the area. Events are held throughout the year, including the Piedmont Avenue Holiday Stroll, Halloween, and the holiday tree lighting. Beauty salons, restaurants, laundromats, delis, clothing stores, antique stores, and galleries are all found in the area.

Northgate

Often lumped in with Uptown, Northgate is a small neighborhood with an Art Deco vibe, thanks to a large population of buildings that were built before 1939. Northgate is a thriving Oakland arts hub and features First Friday events and world class galleries, along with lots of public art. Cafes, bars, and restaurants offer a laid-back nightlife, and the New Parkway theater shows blockbusters and indie movies.

Pill Hill

Named after the large number of medical facilities in the district, Pill Hill is a neighborhood in Oakland, California. Pill Hill still has medical offices as well as the Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center. The area has numerous restaurants, including Phat Matt's Barbecue, Louisiana Fish and Chips, and Dan Sung Sa Korean Restaurant. Pill Hill has an ethnically diverse population of around 6,000 residents.

Fairview Park

Fairview Park is a residential neighborhood located between Brushrod and Rockridge in Oakland, CA. It is made up of older homes, from Tudor cottages to apartment buildings in the Mission Revival architectural style. Supermarkets, hardware stores, schools, and parks are located nearby.

Trestle Glen

The affluent neighborhood Trestle Glen in Oakland, California, was named after a rail trestle built in 1893. There are different of styles of homes in this neighborhood, including Craftsman, Tudor Revival, Spanish, and Prairie. Some of the favorite restaurants in this community include Shakewell, Belly, Café Umami, and Smokin' Woods BBQ. If you're in the mood for shopping, stop by Bay-Made, Urban Indigo, Rare Bird, Oaklandish, and Oakland City Center.
