Trestle Glen

The affluent neighborhood Trestle Glen in Oakland, California, was named after a rail trestle built in 1893. There are different of styles of homes in this neighborhood, including Craftsman, Tudor Revival, Spanish, and Prairie. Some of the favorite restaurants in this community include Shakewell, Belly, Café Umami, and Smokin' Woods BBQ. Lakeshore

The Lakeshore district in Oakland, California, is an easygoing social center that boasts numerous restaurants that include La Marcha Tapas Bar, Mezze, Shakewell, Moroccan Palace Restaurant, Michel Bistro, and Lakeshore Café. The Grand Lake Theater provides a cultural experience that's a throwback to its original days with the show tunes coming from the organ that rises from the floor. Piedmont Avenue

Piedmont Avenue, located in Oakland, is one of the oldest business districts in the area. Events are held throughout the year, including the Piedmont Avenue Holiday Stroll, Halloween, and the holiday tree lighting. Beauty salons, restaurants, laundromats, delis, clothing stores, antique stores, and galleries are all found in the area.

Civic Center

Located on the east side of Oakland's central business district, the Civic Center neighborhood is home to a number of historic and government buildings, including a post office, the Social Security Administration, and two county government office buildings. Residences in the neighborhood include historic apartment buildings, single-family homes, and mixed-use buildings with apartments above retail spaces.
