Housed in an old livery stable from the 1890s, Jupiter is a two-story taproom in Berkeley serving handcrafted beers and ales in deliciously dark and intimate digs. The food here is prepared in an open-air kitchen where handmade, wood-fired pizzas are always cooking and small, shareable dishes abound. A spacious brick patio features a lush, green roof growing with vines, and a large fountain becomes a fire pit on chilly evenings. Twelve flagship core beers and 30 guest taps include exceptional small-batch and local beers, along with the occasional rare and hard-to-find variety.
