Tourists, and even locals, will want to stop by The Hoover Tower when visiting the Stanford University campus. Completed in 1941, the tower contains the Hoover Institution Library and Archive, donated by the 31st president of the United States, Herbert Hoover, who served from 1929-1933. President Hoover graduated from Stanford, and wished to found a 'library of war, revolution, and peace.' At 285 feet tall, the tower offers an observation deck and an opportunity to see bronze bells from Belgium.
