In 1970, the inventor of the Pet Rock, Gary Dahl, opened Carry Nation's in Los Gatos. The bar is named after one of the most radical members of the temperance movement that fought for Prohibition. Like its name, the bar is inspired by the past with Victorian windows, a 1980s-inspired black granite bar and antique base tables. Mixed drinks are the specialty here and many regulars come in for Pabst Blue Ribbon and Guinness on draft. Snacks are served but the bar does not have a kitchen. Fortunately, the Andale Mexican restaurant next door will be happy to prepare your dinner and pound on the wall to let you know to head over and pick it up.
