Uber is a great way to be your own boss and earn great money. From a commercial license to a car, Uber can help you every step of the way.

Three ways to earn

Driver cum owner

A driver cum owner drives a vehicle that he or she owns. Requirements vary by city, but there are a few minimum requirements:

  • Driving License *National Identity Card
  • Vehicle Registration Document
  • Vehicle Insurance (Commercial/Hiring)
  • Revenue Document (Vehicle)

Driver under partner

A driver under partner drives a vehicle owned by a non-driving partner. The following document is required of a driver under partner:

  • Driving License
  • National Identity Card

Non-driving partner

A non-driving partner or fleet partner is someone who does not drive on the Uber platform but owns vehicle(s) and manages at least one driver. Becoming a non-driving partner requires:

  • Driving License or photo id
  • Vehicle Insurance (Commercial/Hiring)
  • Vehicle Registration Document
  • Revenue Document (Vehicle)

It's easy to get started

1. Sign up online

Tell us about yourself and your car, if you have one. If you don’t, we’ll help you get one.

2. Share some documents

Submit a copy of your driver's license and some information for a screening. You can also sign your agreements online and add a vehicle to your account.

3. Activate your account

Bring your car to a local activation center, or partner with a transport company and drive using their vehicles. Requirements vary by city, so sign up to see more information.

Local vehicle requirements

In addition to the minimum requirements above, each city has its own regulations for vehicles. After you sign up to drive, you’ll get more information.
