About the Role

 

 

Are you ready to join us on a once-in-a-career, incredibly fun ride? We are looking for an exceptional attorney and leader to join our New Mobility (NeMo) Legal Team. The role will focus on supporting key initiatives and partnerships that enable the growth and success of the New Mobility business as we become a global multi-mobility platform. e-Bikes, scooters, transit...just to name a few! You are at once a brilliant commercial lawyer, exceptional product lawyer and problem-solving startup advisor who also happens to be the consummate consigliere. Sound like you? What You’ll Do
  • You will be responsible for supporting a broad range of important relationships and initiatives for Uber's New Mobility business including: strategic alliances with mobility partners, public transit relationships, programs with public entities, oversee incubator projects and business development relationships for NeMo.
  • Provide strategic and tactical legal advice in connection with the drafting, negotiation, and review of a wide variety of contracts and strategic agreements, including licensing agreements, business partner agreements, service agreements, co-marketing agreements, public entity terms and Uber service and rental terms.
  • Roll up your sleeves, draft and negotiate agreements to capture novel relationships and objectives.
  • Mentor and manage other team members.
  • Streamline the contract management processes and templates to help drive efficient practices and consistency with internal policies and processes.
  • Create strong trusted advisor relationships with the business leaders and their teams.
  • Work effectively with management and cross-functional teams on a variety of matters, and do so adroitly to deliver highest caliber legal counsel with speed, skill and agility.

 

What You Will Need

  • You must have least 13+ years of legal experience working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment handling a wide array of technology focused agreements, including complex technology agreements, licensing arrangements and strategic alliance agreements and resolving complex commercial disputes.
  • You have a practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving and be able to effectively counsel internal clients by providing them with clear, concise advice, and creative solutions on established timelines to meet the business needs.
  • You must have an excellent understanding of privacy and data protection practices, export, tax, payments, and IP as it pertains to consumer and/or enterprise terms of service and go-to-market strategies.
  • Must have significant experience counseling global organizations on product development and compliance issues.
  • Detail-orientation and ability to manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously under deadline pressure is essential.
  • You are an experienced manager who has excelled at building trust, developing and actively coaching your team.
  • Must be a self-starter who possesses a strong work ethic, be highly organized, have excellent time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and continuously changing environment.
  • Must not only be able to take a risk-based approach to solving current problems to maintain momentum, but also understand and develop what is required to achieve the longer-term goals of the business.
  • Excellent academic credentials as well as significant in-house experience in a large highly matrixed environment are required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and an ability to facilitate clear and open communication at all levels of the organization.
  • You should have a sense of humor, a genuine team player mindset and be someone who enjoys building strong relationships with internal clients.
  • Bonus points if you have experience working with the public entity procurement process including RFPs, tenders, bid protests and statements of work.
