福岡の皆様、みんなのUberが間もなく到着します！

Uberは毎日、世界中で100万人以上に便利で安全な移動手段を提供し、都市の効率化に貢献しています。本日、2月5日午前10時より、福岡市にて革新的なライドシェアの検証プログラムを開始します！その名も「みんなのUber」。日本で初めての試みとなる本プログラムを通して、福岡の街の交通をさらに便利に、効率的にすることを目指しています。また、産学連携機構九州とパートナーシップを組むことで、研究機関等に交通ニーズのデータを提供し検証していきます。

みんなのUberとは？
みんなのUberは、スマートフォンアプリの簡単な操作で、移動手段が必要なときに、近くで車を運転している人と即時にマッチングしてくれます。通勤、通学から、お仕事の移動、観光、買い物、飲み会の帰りまで、ライドシェアという新たな移動の選択肢をご提供します。非営利目的の本プログラムでは、有益なデータを豊富に収集するために、みんなのUberを無料でご利用いただけます。

なぜ福岡？
福岡はUberにとって全世界で282番目の都市で、日本では東京に続き2都市目となります。イノベーションを促進し、起業家育成に力を入れている福岡市や髙島市長のビジョンに私たちは共感しています。こういった取り組みは、雇用を生み、地域の活性化に繋がると信じています。若い世代が多く、成長し続ける福岡市は、今回の新しい検証プログラムに最適な都市であると感じ、本日よりスタートする運びとなりました。

スマートシティ福岡
この検証プログラムの最大の目的は、福岡市の人々の交通ニーズを理解することです。Uberは産学連携機構九州との提携を通じて、スマートシティ構築に向けた取り組みやリサーチを行う研究機関等と連携し、地域間による傾向や需要等の検証を実施します。また、産学連携機構九州は、Uberから提供される匿名・グループ化された乗車データを活用し、九州大学の研究プロジェクトである「共進化社会システム創成拠点」や「福岡地域戦略推進協議会スマートシティ部会」で、新しいモビリティを欲している地域における移動手段の可能性等をUberと検証していきます。

ご利用方法
みんなのUberをご利用いただくには、Uberのアプリ（iOS及びAndroid）をダウンロードし、アカウントを作成するだけ。登録にはクレジットカードが必要ですが、みんなのUberは検証プログラム中、無料でご利用いただけるので、ご安心ください。

Uberアカウント作成後、アプリを起動し、ご希望の場所にピンを置き、車を依頼してください。貴方を乗せてくださる方が、数分後にピックアップしに来てくれます。本プログラムをご利用いただける条件は以下の通りです：
・利用可能エリアは、福岡市・春日市・志免町・糟屋町
・乗車時間が60分以内
・一週間の乗車回数が5回以下

「変革を恐れないオトナたちへ」というメッセージを送り続けるフリーペーパー「BOND」の編集長 小柳俊郎氏は、福岡で初めてみんなのUberを利用し、「Uberがこのようなイノベーティブなプログラムを福岡で開始したことに興奮しています。みんなのUberは、非常に透明性が高いため、安心して利用できるのではないでしょうか。福岡の人々に新たな移動の選択肢を与えるプログラムになると思います」と語っています。

 

安全なライドシェアを提供するために
皆様が安全に目的地に到着できることは、私たちにとって最優先事項です。みんなのUber上で運転される全ての方の身元確認や運転履歴の審査を行い、適切な自動車保険が適応されることを確認しています。また、到着予定時刻をお知らせる機能や、各乗車を5段階で評価する仕組み等を通じて、透明性の高いライドシェア体験をご提供します。

 

Uberは世界中で、効率的で信頼できる交通手段を提供することで、街の渋滞、CO2排出量、飲酒運転事故件数等の削減に貢献しており、福岡でも今後同じ様な効果を期待しています。また、ご高齢者や、交通網が発達していない地域の方々、また外国人観光客等にもご利用いただければと思っています。

Hey Fukuoka, Everyone’s Uber is Arriving Now!

Each day, Uber helps millions of people get around cities safely, conveniently, and makes cities more efficient.  We’re thrilled to announce a pilot program, Everyone’s Uber, an innovative ridesharing program offered by the drivers of Fukuoka, for the people of Fukuoka. Available from 10AM today, February 5, this is an unprecedented collaboration between Uber and the Kyushu Technology Licensing Organization (TLO) to support research institutions analyze the city’s commuting patterns.

What is Everyone’s Uber?
Everyone’s Uber provides on-demand access to your local ridesharing community with just a few taps on your smartphone.  When you need a ride, it matches you with an available driver, so you can leave your car at home.  To expedite the collection of smart data, this program will be available free of charge to riders during the pilot program.

Why Fukuoka?
Fukuoka becomes the 282th Uber city globally, and the second city in Japan alongside Tokyo.  We have long admired the city’s vision to foster innovation and entrepreneurship, led by Mayor Takashima, which ultimately creates more employment and business opportunities.  With a young, growing population that is economically active, the energy in the city means people are constantly moving around the city, making Fukuoka the ideal place for Uber’s first ridesharing pilot in Japan.

A Smarter Fukuoka
Our mission for embarking on this pilot program is to understand the transportation needs of the city and its people.  With that, we are grateful for the support and partnership with the Kyushu TLO to support research around building a smarter city in Fukuoka.  Through the partnership, Uber will provide anonymized and aggregated trip data to Kyushu University Center for Co-evolutional Social Systems and Fukuoka Directive Council’s Smart City Working Group, who will assess needs around mobility services and transportation options in various parts of Fukuoka City.

How can I try Everyone’s Uber?
New to Uber? Sign up by downloading the Uber app on your smartphone.  While it will prompt you to enter your credit card information as our default registration process, rest assured that Everyone’s Uber in Fukuoka is free for riders during the pilot.

Once you have created your Uber account, simply open the Uber app, pin your location, and request a car at the push of a button.  The conditions to participate in this pilot program are as follows:

– Your ride starts AND stays within Fukuoka City, Kasugashi, Shimemachi, and Kasuyamachi.
– Your ride is less than 60 minutes long.
– You don’t take more than 5 rides per week.

Mr. Toshiro Koyanagi, editor-in-chief of BOND, a free paper in Fukuoka, was our very first Everyone’s Uber rider.  He commented, “I’m super excited that Uber has arrived in Fukuoka with such an innovative program.  I love the transparency and reliability of Everyone’s Uber.  It will certainly benefit the people of Fukuoka”.

Safety is our Top Priority
It is our top priority to ensure safe rides through Uber.  All drivers allowed onto the Everyone’s Uber platform will undergo background checks, driving record checks, and must be covered by personal auto insurance.  We also offer transparency through the driver rating system and features such as Share My ETA.

Uber wants to bring more reliable and efficient transportation to Fukuoka, which will lead to less congestion, CO2 emissions, and DUI accidents, as we’re already doing in other cities around the world.  And we’re hopeful that Everyone’s Uber will serve those who need it most, including the elderly, those in underserved areas, and foreigners that visit the city.
