東京のみなさま、uberTAXIが到着します！

8月5日は、1912年に日本で初めてタクシーが誕生した「タクシーの日」です。それ以来、東京のタクシーは100年以上、数えきれないほどの人々を運び、東京という街をより快適且つ便利にしてきました。

そんな特別な日に、Uberとしてはアジアで初めて、東京で”uberTAXI”というタクシーの即時手配サービスを開始します！これまでのUberBLACKと同様、リクエストする前から車の位置がリアルタイムで確認でき、数タップで車を呼ぶことができます。その他にも、ドライバーと直接連絡を取ることや、ご登録済みのクレジットカードでシームレスにお支払いも可能です。お迎えに上がるのが黒塗りのハイヤーではなく、みなさまが慣れ親しんでいるタクシーであることが、UberBLACKとの最大の違いです。

Uberは現在世界42カ国で、人々に移動の選択肢を提供しています。東京では本年3月よりUberBLACKを通じて、高級感あるハイヤーをお手軽にご利用できるサービスを展開してきました。ただ、フランス料理のフルコースを食べたいときがあれば、ツルッと一杯蕎麦を食べたいときもありますよね？タクシーが東京のUberファミリーに加わったことで、同じ移動でも複数のオプションからお選びいただけるようになりました。

これにより、みなさまによりお手頃にUberをご利用いただけると同時に、規模・質ともに世界最高水準の東京のタクシーに簡単にアクセスできるようになります。弊社のパートナー様（タクシー会社様やドライバー）にとっては、より効率的にお客様を見つけることで、実車率や収入の向上が図れます。流しのお客様を探すために走り回ることも減るため、二酸化炭素排出量の低下にも繋がります。東京都全体、或いは地球環境の視点からすると、より効率的な交通手段は、渋滞と環境汚染の軽減を意味します。

<ご利用方法>

• アプリの車種選択画面より、TAXIを選び、車をリクエスト。

• uberTAXIの料金は、タクシーのメーター通りになります。それに加えて、各タクシー会社が定める迎車料がご請求されます。

• 目的地到着後、領収書がemailとして配信されます。その後のドライバーの評価も通常通りに行えます。

• リクエスト後5分以上経過した場合、500円のキャンセル費用が発生します。

本日発表する新たな選択肢はこれだけではありません。ハイグレードタクシーが呼べる ”uberプレミアムTAXI”も同時にサービスインします！東京発の本サービスは、Uberにとっては世界初の試みとなります。車種はトヨタクラウンロイヤルシリーズ、BMW 7シリーズ、Lexus LS、トヨタアルファード等になります。配車方法はuberTAXIと全く同じですが、各リクエストにつき500円のUber取扱手数料をご請求させていただきます。

Your uberTAXI is arriving to Tokyo!

Today is ‘Japan Taxi Day’, celebrating the first day a fleet of 6 taxis started operations in Tokyo. A century later, Uber is thrilled to change the way people move around Tokyo with the announcement of uberTAXI! Starting today, users will be able to request a taxi straight from their Uber app. We’re excited about the fact that Tokyo marks the first city in Asia where Uber is introducing a service to connect users to taxis. This means that you get all the benefits of the Uber platform – being able to request a car with two taps, see the location of the car in real time and watch it come to you, contact the driver directly, seamlessly pay through the app – but a taxi that you’re so used to will be waiting outside your door.

 

Uber takes great pride in giving people choice, now in 42 countries around the world. Since March of this year, Uber has been providing a new transportation option to Tokyo riders by making limousine hire cars more accessible with UberBLACK. But we understand that riders want choice. Just like many of us don’t always want to eat a 5 course French meal everyday, sometimes we just a quick and convenient bowl of soba. That’s what uberTAXI brings. Now, Tokyo residents have a more affordable Uber option and easy access to Tokyo’s fleet of taxis, one of the largest in the world offering world-class service. For our taxi partners and their drivers, this means helping them find more riders efficiently, increasing their utilization and earnings each day, while reducing carbon emission because they are not circling the streets looking for riders. For the city of Tokyo and the environment, this efficient transportation method means less congestion and pollution. Everyone wins!

 

<How it works>

• Select TAXI in the Uber app from the list of car types and request like normal.

• uberTAXI drivers will run the taximeter in the cab during each trip. You will also be charged the booking fee as defined by each taxi company.

• After your trip, you will receive an email receipt with your trip details. You will also have the opportunity to rate the driver, as usual.

• Similar to UberBLACK, a cancellation fee may apply if you cancel after five minutes.

 

But wait. Did we mention that Uber’s all about choice? Well there’s more to the news. Starting today, there will be yet another option, called uberTAXILUXE, a service to request premium taxis. Tokyo is Uber’s first city to launch a service of its kind. Cars will include, but not limited to,Toyota Crown Royal Series, BMW 7 Series, Lexus LS, and Toyota Alphard. The flow will be exactly the same as taxi, except an additional 500JPY Uber handling fee. We’re super excited about leveraging our technology to provide more accessible transportation options to Tokyoites.
