The Uber app is designed to provide better options for mobility for as many people as possible, including those who may have a disability or need additional assistance.
WAV connects riders who have mobility disabilities with drivers in wheelchair-accessible vehicles that are equipped with ramps or lifts. This service is available and expanding in cities across the US. In order to make cities more wheelchair-accessible, WAV technology is being shared with taxi operators around the world.
Assist matches riders with top-rated drivers who have been trained to assist riders who need a helping hand. The service is available in more than 70 cities around the world.
Uber Health is a non-emergency transportation service that was designed to meet HIPAA regulations. It helps patients and their caregivers get to and from care.
People who drive with the Uber app have been provided with information to help them understand their obligations to accommodate riders with service animals.
With VoiceOver for iOS, TalkBack for Android, and wireless Braille display compatibility, the app makes it easier for riders who are blind to get where they’re going. Plus, cashless payment doesn’t require counting out and exchanging cash.

Partnering with accessibility leaders
Our partnerships with the Communication Service for the Deaf, the National Association of the Deaf, and Telecommunications for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Inc. (TDI) help us to continue developing new processes and features that enhance trips for drivers who are deaf.
