We're seeking a design leader to manage and help designers, design engineers, researchers and strategists on our Uber Freight team realize Uber's global vision, and together, become the best design team in the industry.
About Uber Freight Design
We are a rapidly growing team of a dozen designers and researchers with a shared vision of infusing every Uber Freight experience with delight. Each designer and researcher is aligned with a team that serves drivers, shippers, and operations specialists, so we get to own a design from beginning to end. We stand behind a healthy critique culture so we can cross-pollinate ideas, identify journeys, and collaborate on solutions.
You're still an amazing designer. Your portfolio is so inspiring that we'd consider you for a staff level position, but your interests lie more in helping others become amazing designers.
As a designer, you’re a unicorn. You’re driving best practices in overall experiences and product design -- way beyond the visual.
You know how to set the bar high. You know what quality looks like and how to help product teams ship at that quality with minimal impact on velocity.
You teach the soft and hard skills. You help designers become the collaborative glue that inspires product management and engineering while also developing their core competencies at envisioning what could be.

12-15 years digital design and UX/IA experience for a large / complex websites with multiple KPIs
What you’d do:
Lead internal design team for Uber Freight to help define product vision and executions.
Happy to be hands on with creating necessary artifacts to support the program and team.
Someone who can lead the team by showing great example of design practices and help solve complex interaction problems.
Responsible for end-to-end creative direction of the website and web campaigns, from defining complex user-stories, wire-frames and prototyping to visual design with accountability to results.
Package creative concepts and present to internal stakeholders in persuasive, articulate and compelling ways.
Integrate brand and marketing and positioning with direct response to drive conversions throughout the entire customer journey.
Help guide the design team develop IA frameworks that aligns to complex taxonomies, create the foundation for a systematic design thinking to help build and define holistic customer experience across all website properties of uber.
Collaborate with analytics and testing team on iterative tests to improve and optimize key metrics.
Collaborate with product managers, program managers, engineering leads and design engineers to help define requirements for product development.
