About the Role



To keep our customers safe, Uber works closely with Law Enforcement departments across the globe. As an Analyst within Law Enforcement Operations, you will be responsible for providing operational and strategic level analytical support to the APAC Law Enforcement Response Team (LERT) and our Law Enforcement Liaison Leads. You will use your ability to manage and assess large volumes of disparate data, applying contemporary analytical tools and techniques to support our teams in responding to complex requests for data relating to serious criminal investigations.  Requests often relate to critical incidents and frequently involve emergency circumstances requiring timely and accurate responses.  


We are seeking a highly-motivated and detail-oriented person to provide practical and analytical support to our team. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent judgement, work well under pressure, prioritise effectively and work collaboratively with stakeholders across the globe including Legal, Litigation and Operational teams.


What You’ll Do
  • Use your knowledge of law enforcement and criminal intelligence to support the production of data in response to complex criminal investigations.
  • Protect the privacy of Driver-Partners, Riders and other parties’ data in Uber’s possession.
  • Use your data analytical experience to manage and critically assess large volumes of data, identifying and developing information relevant to complex law enforcement requests.  
  • Improve team efficiency and accuracy by identifying requirements for tooling development, quality assurance and relevant metrics; drive change when required ensuring global collaboration and alignment.
  • Provide enhanced technical support to LERT analysts responding to complex data requests.
  • Apply research methodologies to identify issues and trends to drive strategic level engagement with law enforcement, particularly around safety initiatives.
  • Produce concise yet thorough reports for internal and external stakeholders.


What You’ll Need
  • Experience providing operational and strategic level analytical support to complex criminal investigations, preferably as a criminal intelligence analyst.
  • BA/BS in Economics, Finance, Math, Statistics, or similar.
  • Strong data skills and a proven ability to use tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, R and Tableau to work efficiently at scale.
  • Confidence interacting with law enforcement, at all levels, from engaging with investigators through to senior officers on strategic level partnerships.
  • Skilled in various computer systems and internet technology (Mac, Google, online research, etc.)
  • Experience working with law enforcement across Asia Pacific is highly desirable.
