Uber Freight coronavirus (COVID-19) resources and updates.
The freight industry is the lifeblood of the economy. Demand for essential goods has grown, directly affecting the shippers and carriers who are on the front lines of producing and delivering these goods. As we face the challenges of this health crisis together, Uber Freight remains committed to supporting our carriers and our shippers.
The safety and well-being of everyone who uses Uber Freight is our priority. We are closely following the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and are taking steps across Uber to help keep communities safe.
Important information for carriers
During this challenging time, Uber Freight is looking forward to the safety and well-being of carriers who keep freight moving and essential supplies stocked while supporting our carriers’ transportation business during the global coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Get a refund for your personal protective equipment
We pledged to assist carriers and drivers by helping to offset the purchase cost of safety equipment. To help drivers take all possible precautions, we will pay €25 per load for personal protective equipment, up to a maximum payment amount of €100 per week.
Expedite your payments to twice per week when moving a relief load
Starting on the week of March 30, 2020, we will pay you twice as fast as our standard 7-day payment terms (twice per week rather than once per week) for all your loads if you move at least one relief load per week.
What is a relief load?
- Designated relief loads include: Medical supplies; equipment necessary for community safety, housing, and sanitation; food; paper products; and raw materials.
How can you find a relief load?
- Loads will be tagged as “RELIEF” in the Commodity section of the app/web portal.
Valid until June 1, 2020
Find loads quicker
We want to offer our technology to help you keep your trucks moving. You can now save your preferred lanes through our web portal and be notified every time we find a load matching your criteria. As with all loads, you can diversify your portfolio, move more loads, and receive your payment within the next 7 business days upon POD and invoice receipt.
How to save lanes?
- First, log in to the Uber Freight web portal
- Next, define your lane criteria and save your lanes by tapping either the Saved Lane button or the Search button
- You will be automatically notified once the web portal finds a load that matches your saved criteria
