Senior City Operations Manager, AV Fleets - Bay Area

About the Role

This position is based on-site in San Francisco, with regional oversight of our Bay Area Operations. In this role, you will own the development and lead the end-to-end execution of Uber’s fleet operations strategy to deliver scaled, multi-market deployment of Autonomous Vehicles (AVs). You will be the primary architect of our local ecosystem and partner with AV developers, incumbent fleet operators, and OEMs to drive industry-leading asset utilization and up-time to deliver best-in-class fleet economics to our partners. Our ideal candidate is a seasoned operator with advanced technical aptitude and an entrepreneurial spirit; a builder who is comfortable navigating through ambiguity and passionate about building and scaling processes.

What You'll Do

  • Lead fleet partners through the complexities of scaling supply across multiple markets; drive all ongoing regional operations in collaboration with cross-functional leadership.
  • Serve as the primary lead and escalation point for fleet partners, independently driving resolution for complex operational issues and holding partners accountable to performance standards.
  • Understand the service and support ecosystem for vehicle fleets, the challenges our AV partners face in providing these services, and architect comprehensive plans to optimize these opportunities
  • Lead and manage high-stakes partnerships with external market participants, ranging from incumbent fleet operators and software providers to OEMs and charging partners.
  • Work closely with Uber cross-functional teams to identify and resolve dependencies to your markets’ roadmap, highlight resource requirements, inform budgets, define KPIs, and be accountable for your markets operational and financial performance
  • Approach data with curiosity and a focus on accuracy, you’ll identify and report trends, helping the team think creatively through solutions while working to turn ideas into actionable plans

Basic Qualifications

  • 6 years Operations Management or Program Management experience
  • 3+ years of Fleet Operations and/or Logistics experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets
  • Advanced proficiency in Powerpoint / Google Slides
  • Excellent 3rd party partner management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years AV Operations experience preferred
  • Experience launching Operations in new markets
  • Self-starter who thrives in an environment of responsibility and independence, making smart judgements in spite of ambiguity
  • Track record of successful project development and implementation through principled execution, an understanding of operational factors, and their impacts on unit economics
  • Data-driven decision making mentality, sound business judgment, and the ability to back your analysis up with relevant analytical thinking

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$162,000 per year - USD$180,000 per year.

You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan.
