About the Role
At Uber, we ignite opportunity by setting the world in motion. We take on big problems to help drivers, riders, delivery partners, and eaters get moving in more than 600 cities around the world.
We believe the most successful consumer technology companies are brilliant storytellers who ensure that their products - as well as the benefits of these products - are central to every communication. Our team is responsible for telling Uber's story to a wide range of media and external audiences across Canada.
We are looking for someone to lead corporate communications in Canada, based in Toronto. You will report directly to our Head of Public Policy & Communications, Uber Canada.
What You'll Do
What You'll Need
Proven track record with at least 8+ years experience in communications, PR or journalism -- either for a company, a third party or in government -- as well as experience working firsthand with executives.
Experience in corporate, product, internal and crisis communications is an advantage; as is prior experience operating in a hyper-growth technology or start up organization.
Excellent understanding of the media industry and extensive network of relationships with media and influencers across Canada is a must. We're also open to people with experience in another walk of life, who intuitively get this stuff, and may be looking for a career change.
About the Team
Our team is responsible for telling Uber's story, whether it's transforming how we think about food delivery, helping small businesses grow by opening virtual doors to the best restaurants in a city, or lowering the barriers to entry for the people who value independent, flexible work. That's particularly relevant for our employees, helping them to understand what do we stand for and the positive impact we can have in the communities we serve.
We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently. If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let's move the world forward, together.
At Uber we don’t just accept difference—we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our employees, our products and our community. Uber is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status.
