Senior Market Research Manager, Policy and Communications

We are looking for an experienced research professional to lead data-driven political strategy. This global research and insights role requires using world-class research methods to rapidly respond to crisis situations, message strategic policy and communications opportunities, and shape the future political landscape of urban mobility.

Across the globe, we are changing the way the cities move, and you will be an essential part of building Uber's policy, communications, and marketing global network.

What You'll Do

  • Lead global political research that drives the strategy for policy development, communications messaging, and political marketing campaigns.
  • Partner with Uber's global policy, communications, and marketing leadership to craft intellectually credible narratives that move people emotionally.
  • Develop a data-driven understanding of political and business trends across the world.
  • Lead the transformation of insights into a culturally-relevant strategies, opportunities and value propositions, and articulate implications and impacts for brand, product, technology, and service platforms.
  • Scope and design a global research action plan. Focus on both short-term (i.e., campaign/messaging) as well as long-term (i.e., mine consumer insights for multi-year political trend opportunities).
  • Be the voice of the customer when Uber makes critical policy and communications decisions.

What You'll Need

  • At least 6+ years of quantitative and qualitative political research experience
  • Ability to execute research from design, fielding, analysis, and reporting, with an emphasis on high-level strategic recommendations
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills; experience presenting to executive leaders and candidates
  • Deep experience with either electoral or issue-advocacy campaign strategy at the statewide or national level
  • Familiarity with campaign analytics and data science tools
  • Familiarity with political advertising messaging and targeting strategy
  • A proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams from policy, communications, legal, and marketing
  • A self-starter who can shape how we tell our story to the world, requiring the ability to develop relationships, set a strategy, and execute
  • Highly adaptable and calm under pressure
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, economics, or communications

Bonus Points

  • Experience using programming languages, such as SQL or R.
