About the Role

The UK and Ireland (UKI) business is looking for a sharp, highly motivated individual to join our Regulatory Operations team based in London. The RegOps team is responsible for ensuring that we meet all regulatory obligations across the 80 councils that we operate in across the UK and Ireland.

This person will be part of and work closely with a cross-functional team consisting of regulatory operations, safety, compliance, product managers, lawyers, and other data scientist/analysts. This role will perform deep dive analysis to understand root causes for regulatory and safety issues and propose solutions to these issues. This role may also need to explain Uber's data to lawyers, regulators, and other key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate for this role will have strong data skills and be confident using tools such as Excel and SQL. They will have prior experience in an investigations or regulatory data analyst role in a regulated business.

What You'll Do

  • Deep dive to discover root causes for safety and regulatory issues and to identify changes in trends
  • Owning process of independent validation to ensure the consistency and quality of regulatory reporting
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop interventions that address incidents and root causes
  • Developing a deep understanding of the data environment to be able to identify and access all data relevant to regulatory investigations
  • Use analytics to drive data driven decisions and effectively communicate results with key stakeholders
  • Work with Regulatory and Safety leads to identify opportunities for proactive analysis
  • Support and mentor other team members who work with data to improve their skillset

What You'll Need

  • BA/BS in Economics, Finance, Math, Statistics, or qualification in SQL
  • Data analytics experience on a global scale
  • Experience with end to end project ownership and communicating with stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience telling stories with data to both technical and non-technical audiences and creating clear and visualizations to convey complex data
  • Understanding of working in regulatory environment
  • Strong data skills and a proven ability to use Excel, SQL to interrogate and investigate data
  • Experience with Tableau and similar tools
