About the Role

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for setting up a business development roadmap and for developing and owning business relationships and outcomes across Sub-Saharan Africa. The ideal candidate will think strategically and analytically about business and product opportunities, and will have a demonstrated track record of negotiating, executing and managing high-value partnerships with large, complex, and global partners.

What You'll Do

  • Develop meaningful relationships with key partners that fit into our go-to-market strategy
  • Envision new ways that partnerships can positively impact core business objectives applying creativity and business acumen
  • Support the partnership from relationship building and due diligence, contract negotiations, all the way through post-contract sign integration and expansion
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners in operations and product to bring 'first of their kind' partnerships to life
  • Evaluate and prioritize strategic partnership opportunities, performing a broad range of quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Set, track and report on partner performance metrics
  • Prepare and give business reviews to Uber's senior management team regarding progress in the business development space
  • Act as a partner advocate internally

What You'll Need

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Management Consulting, Investment Banking or Strategic Business Development- defined as high value, two-way, multi-year partnership creation and management but we will consider other candidates if they meet the rest of the requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or Business
  • Professional proficiency in English
