Risk Strategy Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a risk or fraud analyst to join our team. The analyst will be responsible for successfully executing on projects that require collaboration across product, engineering, data science, finance, and operations stakeholders in a complex environment. As an owner of key fraud metrics, you should have the analytics experience, intellectual curiosity, and resourcefulness to identify, measure, and mitigate new and emerging loss vectors. In this role, you will require a mix of business and technical acumen and also cross-functional skills to communicate with various internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • This hands-on analytics role for a professional will be responsible for assessing Uber Risk platform capabilities and develop strategic insights to support sustained business growth.
  • Participate in project definition and idea generation, work on collaborative projects with stakeholders across the globe such as product, engineering, data science with a focus on the Risk/Fraud mitigation.
  • Leverage data to develop analytical insights across all areas of our business to drive product development.
  • Analyze user and transaction data to drive business decisions to contribute to machine learning models, rules, and other detection systems.
  • Present findings to management team to strengthen business decisions.
  • Align functions on shared vision, OKRs, KPIs, metrics, etc.

What You'll Need

  • True passion for Uber's mission and the company's hybrid technology/operational nature
  • Minimum 3 years experienece with experimental design such as A/B testing experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience with Data Analytics/Data Science tech stack like SQL, R, Python, SAS
  • Creative problem solving, critical thinking skills, and get things done attitude
  • Hands-on, data-driven, and attentive to detail
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to work in a self-guided manner
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • BS/MS or other quantitative field (advanced degrees are a plus)
  • Risk/Fraud experience a plus
