Autonomous Vehicle Program Manager

About the Role

The Autonomous Vehicle Program manager is a integral aspect to the mission of Uber ATG. You will be directly responsible to manage a vehicle integration development program to make autonomous vehicles that can move people and things a reality.

What You'll Do

  • Manage Autonomous Vehicle Integration program delivery, including milestones, prototype builds, and launch
  • Aggregate information from different hardware and software team members to create plans and deliver results
  • Interface with Vehicle OEMs and Tier1 suppliers to align technology and vehicle delivery
  • Resolve technical, scheduling and resource conflicts by prioritizing based on project goals
  • Establish process to manage changes for all component builds and vehicle builds
  • Work with Purchasing, Finance, and internal engineering teams to deliver the vehicle program on time and within budget.
  • Keep stakeholders informed by summarizing and reporting out status to project teams and to executives

What You'll Need

  • Strong program management experience in the automotive field (preferably in vehicle/hardware development)
  • Experience managing cross-functionally to deliver complex projects
  • Affinity for working in a dynamic, global, and technology-focused environment
  • Self-starter with ability to multi-task and deal with time pressure in an unstructured environment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience at an Automotive OEM, or Tier 1 supplier
  • Experience launching a new automotive/hardware product into the production
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, or similar discipline

  • Autonomous vehicle knowledge and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple teams simultaneously to deliver complex projects
  • Experience managing projects launching new technology (hardware or software)
  • Strong business Acumen
