Counsel, Product & Commercial, South Cone
About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional product and commercial lawyer who excels in fast-paced, high-impact environments, partnering closely with Ops teams and enterprise sales organizations. In this role, you will play a central part in driving Uber’s strategic growth, leading complex product and commercial matters for our Mobility and Delivery businesses across the Southern Cone (Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay). You will report to the Legal Director for the Southern Cone and be based in Santiago, Chile.
As a trusted, high-impact adviser, you will navigate an evolving legal and regulatory landscape, delivering pragmatic and forward-thinking solutions that shape how we operate in one of Uber’s most critical priority markets globally. You will be expected to balance legal risk with long-term, sustainable growth, while leading transformative initiatives that have a tangible impact on our business and the communities we serve.
Success in this role requires the ability to collaborate seamlessly with diverse cross-functional stakeholders and to provide clear, strategic, and actionable legal guidance that enables confident decision-making and successful product launches. The ideal candidate will also bring strong commercial contracting expertise, supporting innovative, scalable solutions that move both our business—and the world—forward.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Provide proactive legal guidance to product and sales teams, enabling the design, rollout, and scaling of Mobility and Delivery offerings across the Southern Cone.
- Structure, draft, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including Terms & Conditions, supporting key partnerships and revenue-generating initiatives.
- Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders—including operations, policy, compliance, and business leaders—to align legal strategies with commercial priorities.
- Anticipate and manage legal and regulatory exposure in a rapidly evolving environment, ensuring thoughtful risk-taking that supports long-term growth.
- Contribute to regional and global projects with significant business impact, helping shape how Uber operates and expands in a critical market.
Basic Qualifications
- +8 years of experience at a top-notch law firm or in-house
- Strong commercial contracts, marketing, and consumer law training and experience, including dealing with international contracts and corporate law.
- Strong academic credentials and a law degree from a Chilean or Argentinian university
- Excellent business judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Think on your feet and make quick decisions
- Thrive in high impact/high profile situations
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- Enthusiastic about Uber
Preferred Qualifications
- If you hold an LL.M Degree or master’s degree.
- If you maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology matters.
