About the Team

Uber invests a significant portion of its marketing budget each year to attract and engage our customers - Riders, Drivers, Couriers, and Eaters. This effort spans various channels, from TV ads and posters to digital advertising through mobile and web platforms.

The AdTech team is at the forefront of building the technology capabilities to scale our advertising efforts, utilizing data to drive intelligent optimization and automation. We handle the entire process, from budgeting and spend allocation across the globe using advanced models to the detailed optimization of content delivery.

Our team is currently developing systems to manage and partially automate marketing spending, leveraging cutting-edge machine learning techniques to drive sign-ups and maximize the efficiency of our multi-billion-dollar advertising budgets. What You'll Do

  • Develop tools to enable marketers to manage marketing budgets across multiple channels from a single campaign manager portal.
  • Create systems to track and report on ad spend return on investment.
  • Build systems to automate ad operations.
  • Develop systems that use advanced machine learning techniques to optimize spending across different channels.
  • Maintain high standards for sustainable engineering by following best practices and producing high-quality code, documentation, testing, and monitoring.

What You'll Need

  • Strong architectural skills: Knowledge of data structures and a keen eye for architecture. Ability to discuss trade-offs between architectural choices both theoretically and practically.
  • Proven track record of managing highly performant teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in setting vision and leading teams.
  • Proven success in a production environment.
  • Collaborative team approach: Belief in achieving more as a team and valuing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of business and design requirements to create a delightful user experience, whether working on an API, an internal tool, or a customer-facing feature.
  • Experience querying data using SQL.
  • AdTech experience is a significant plus.
