Driving at Glacier Park International Airport (FCA)

Airports can be complicated places, especially for drivers. But knowing the basics, and getting information in advance about your local airport, can help make sure you’re prepared for your first pickup or dropoff.

Airport regulations

Per FCA regulations, drivers must adhere to the terms below. Failure to do so may result in a $100 citation. Uber will not pay for citations.

  • All ride dropoffs and pickups must occur on the departures level.
  • The Uber trade dress and FCA airport placard must always be displayed in your windshield.
  • When on airport property, the Uber Driver App must be open at all times (please do not log off until you exit the airport).
  • You may be asked to show your waybill. To access it, tap the “info” button that appears in your app.

How pickup requests work

It’s easy to receive trip requests from riders leaving the airport. However, these trips work a little differently than other requests.

Waiting for requests

At FCA, Uber’s technology uses a driver queue zone. This means that, in order to receive a trip request, Earners need to enter a designated waiting lot, located within a driver queue zone. Earners will then be placed in the virtual queue. The waiting lot is the cell phone lot located just off of Glacier Airport Road (see map below).

Some things to know about the driver queue zone:

  • Proximity to the terminal within the driver queue zone does not create an advantage for Earners or move you closer to the top of the queue.
  • If there are no Earners in the driver queue zone, trip requests will go to Uber Earners in the area - outside of the queue zone - based on proximity and other factors.
  • You can lose your place in line if:
  1. You go offline on your Uber driver app
  2. You drive outside the driver queue zone
  3. You do not accept multiple incoming trip requests in a row
  4. You cancel a ride (if the rider cancels, you will remain at the top of the queue)

Picking up your rider

Once you accept a trip request, FCA’s pickup location is located at the end of the second median on Glacier Airport Road.

Based on feedback from FCA please be mindful of:

  • Respecting the waiting areas of taxi or shuttle operators
  • If the airport is crowded, consider contacting your rider using the Uber driver app to confirm their exact location
  • Meeting your rider in the designated pickup location

Dropoffs at the airport

At FCA, riders can be dropped off at the marked area at the beginning of the second median.
