About the Role

We are hiring a Product Designer to join our world class design team! You will build Uber's next generation of services in a fast-paced, rapidly growing, hybrid (technology/operations) environment.

We are highly user-centric and we deeply believe we can innovate our way out of any box. Your number one job is to solve user problems. You will work closely with Product Managers, UX researchers, Engineers and Data Scientists to iterate and create a usable, useful and fabulous experience that your team can launch. You'll engage across all stages of a project. The role demands bold innovation, obsession with quality, fearlessness, and optimism to be inspired by the unknown!

You will help lay the foundation for strong product development in Latin America and you will design unique technologies for customers across the entire Uber ecosystem. One of your areas of focus will be Safety solutions. You'll lead the team in bridging the physical and digital, opening up the boundaries to help Uber stand for safety around the world, among other challenges.

About the Team

We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently. If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let's move the world forward, together.

  • Interest in qualitative and quantitative data. You care deeply about grounding your decisions in real data, marketplace needs & norms, and business OKRs.
  • An owner's attitude: You don't hesitate to call up dispatchers or drivers for spontaneous research, motivate engineers to get the fit and finish right, translate insights from user studies into meaningful action
  • Proven experience and desire to build for internal expert users, a consumer audience
  • Ability to bring a consumer mindset to "enterprise" design
  • Ability to work collaboratively with people from all disciplines and levels

  • Comprehensive knowledge of mobile and web design patterns (and when to break them)
  • Fluent in business English. Spanish will be a plus.
