Program Manager Tech I
About the Role
**Uber Global Scaled Solutions(GSS), TPM group plays a critical role in executing high-impact company-wide initiatives and continuously improves processes to increase the effectiveness of our partner Product and Engineering organizations.
We are responsible for organizing cross team programs to deliver on our product milestones and key engineering initiatives, communicating progress, and leading execution with proactive risk management to ensure delivery according to schedule.
The TPM for this role will wear multiple hats, including but not limited to driving a cohesive vision and roadmap for the ideal Product Release Strategy at Uber and ensuring that the team executes against that roadmap with high velocity.
This role is highly cross functional, and this TPM will be equally adept at whiteboarding solution design, evaluation framework results with Product Engineers, Reliability Engineers and Dev Infra Team and ensuring that the automated Test Case coverage across products is met.
TPMs move fluidly from the big picture to details so that the team can deliver complex cross-functional projects, often with tight deadlines. You are a bridge and a connector for the company.

**What You'll Do
Work closely with Cross-functional engineering teams ranging from Backend Engineers, Reliability Engineers and Developer Infrastructure to develop the most optimal development and release strategy across the products
Project manage cross-functional initiatives working with Uber engineering teams to estimate efforts, define milestones, and drive the schedule of automating the TCs along with the vendor engineering team.
Track issues and proactively remove obstacles to drive momentum and progress. Identify communication gaps, manage issue escalations and provide support to teams balancing competing priorities. Drive results proactively.
Resource Management. Work with the project team to define the projects' cross functional technical and non-technical resources. Monitor allocation and capacity.
Business Focused. Drive efforts based on business benefit and overall value.
Work with Vendor Partners to help augment the additional bandwidth required to solve the Partner Team's problem Statements
What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points**
5+ years Technical Program Management Experience
Proven ability to work cross-functionally with highly technical software teams
Solid technical aptitude and an ability to understand technical designs, challenges and risks; Engineers enjoy working closely with you.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional emotional intelligence; Ability to influence and motivate people across a broad variety of job functions through your relationships.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously, without losing sight of highest priority items.
Strong technical, analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive decisions.
Ability to understand complex concepts and make reasoned decisions objectively
