About the Role

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will be responsible for cold calling prospects within the Shipper Platform customer segmentation to understand company needs, generate qualified lead opportunities for our sales team, generate appointments for Account Executives, and sign up companies after successfully showcasing the Uber Freight platform.

The ideal candidate will build rapport with contacts through phone calls and emails from inbound and outbound leads and educate clients about the Shipper Platform solution. This position will work closely with the Account Executives, Account Managers, and other cross functional teams across Amsterdam and Chicago. This role also involves gathering key information to update our Salesforce database and assigning next steps for Account Executives. The individual will be required to work with a high throughput of leads and data flow.

Successful candidates should be excited to roll up their sleeves, get behind Uber Freight's vision, and enjoy interacting/convincing to keep their businesses moving via the Uber Freight Shipper Platform across Europe.

What you'll do:

  • Using calls and email cadences, act as the first point of contact with small and medium-sized businesses who may be a fit for the Uber Freight Shipper Platform
  • Manage inbound and outbound pipeline with outreach and qualification for the Shipper Platform
  • Clearly communicate the value of Uber Freight and the platform's capabilities to prospects
  • Manage contract negotiations aimed at establishing the foundation of a strong working relationship with our shipper partners, including sustainable economics for both parties
  • Achieve and consistently exceed monthly sales goals
  • Work with internal stakeholders to smoothly onboard new shippers
  • Help us identify and build best practices for your sales team and others
  • Act as an ambassador of Uber Freight's mission, brand, and product

What you'll need:

  • A customer service orientation and experience developing strong partnerships
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A positive, self-starter attitude and determined drive to win
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and follow-through while paying attention to detail
  • Coachability, interest in implementing feedback, and dedication to the improvement of your craft
  • Prior sales or cold calling experience is a plus
  • Proficient in Excel and Google suite
  • Uber does not provide visa sponsorship or relocation support for this role.

The Uber Freight Shipper Platform Sales team is focused on providing tools and transparency to our shippers. Specifically, we offer radical transparency to our shippers by enabling them to create a quote, build a load and track their shipments in real-time through the Shipper Platform as part of the broader Account Operations organization.
