About the Role

The Uber IT Eng Team is seeking to expand the existing project execution capabilities with a tech savvy, enthusiastic, and data driven Sr. Program Manager. You will work alongside multiple business units and play a pivotal role in enabling and empowering end-users to get the most out of our Salesforce CRM platform and other tools to support global business and sales operations.

The Sr. Program Manager(reporting into the IT Eng PMO) will have a critical role in the integrity of our Salesforce CRM and play an important part in shaping the future of our systems and business processes.

One of the core responsibilities of the role will be the management projects/programs supporting Uber Eats Sales Ops/Sales functions. There would also be some initiatives supporting Uber Eats B2B support through our Community Operations initiatives. The typical technology scope for this role is focused on, but not limited to: Salesforce.com Sales and Service Cloud Data Access and Corporate Identity, HR Systems (Workday), Collaboration Apps (GSuite, Jira, Teamdot, others).

Program Managers move fluidly from the big picture to details so that the team can deliver complex and strategic cross-functional projects, often with tight deadlines. You break through communication issues and effectively develop relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. You build trust across the organization. You are not afraid to be direct, but you strive to act with empathy and integrity. Program Management work involves the following:

  • Project manage complex and large scale cross-team, cross-functional initiatives. Interface with engineering managers and engineers to estimate work efforts, define milestones and manage resources. Track progress, resolve dependencies, evaluate risks and communicate status to upper management and project stakeholders. Engage and energize the project teams to achieve aggressive goals.
  • Proactively remove obstacles to drive momentum and progress. Identify communication gaps, manage issue escalations and provide support to teams balancing competing priorities. Drive results proactively.
  • Understand technical implementation at the architecture level and propose technical alternatives when necessary. Ask questions that clarify priorities and push the team to be highly effective. Develop broad domain and technical knowledge.
  • Help manage the cross-functional strategic planning and business planning process, leading conversations with key stakeholders to develop concepts for strategic initiatives, and developing those into detailed program / project plans (including roadmaps, funding planning, resource planning and hiring goals).
  • Continuously improve and scale the organization. Implement continuous improvements to the engineering organization and the program management process. Share program/project process frameworks, tools, and best practices that can be adopted throughout the organization. Improve product development and delivery. Mentor project management skills within our engineering leadership team.
  • Resource Management. Work with the project team to define the projects' cross functional technical and non-technical resources. Monitor allocation and capacity.

What You'll need:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a program / project manager or engineering manager in a Salesforce.com platform environments
  • Understanding of CRM principles, sales pipeline management, sales operations best practices
  • Must have at least one Salesforce Sales Cloud implementation
  • Understanding customer support technologies and customer support operations.
  • Direct experience working in a business operations team
  • Analytical and truth seeking. Ability to understand complex concepts and make reasoned decisions objectively. Passion for data driven decisions
  • Impeccable customer service, strong ability to work with cross functional teams at all levels
  • Solid technical aptitude and an ability to understand technical designs, challenges and risks. Engineers enjoy working closely with you.
  • Experienced in project management. Familiar with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and able to apply them where best suited.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional emotional intelligence. Ability to influence and motivate people across a broad variety of job functions through your relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle many tasks without losing sight of the highest priority items.

About the Team

The IT Eng PMO is responsible for overall program execution across IT programs globally across Uber. The team supports engineering functions across multiple business functions for Sales Operations, HR, Legal , Productivity, Enterprise security, Hardware and data centers.

This role focuses on working with the UberEats sales operations team and engineering teams to support acquisition initiatives globally. UberEats has been growing rapidly and is expanding across cities in multiple countries. You will get to work in a rapid growth area where you will have an opportunity to help define technical landscape for sales ops. You will work with very a strong technical team that is helping implement a strong foundation of sales tech globally.
