Senior Business Development Manager, CPG Partnerships

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to be a senior member of the Uber Eats business organization.

The Senior Business Development Manager will be building key Consumer Product Goods (CPG) / Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) partnerships to drive awareness, increase attachment and monetization on our platform. We're looking for a motivated self-starter who thrives in a team environment and who has excelled in business development, product, and relationship-building roles. You will report to the Director of Business Development for CPG.

What You'll Do

  • Work to source and close CPG/FCMG partners as great additions to the Uber Eats ecosystem
  • Evaluate strategic partnership opportunities, performing a broad range of quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Source, negotiate and implement strategic partnerships in support of a business thesis or business model
  • Be a thought partner regarding strategic partnerships, metrics, process, performance, and opportunities for improvement
  • Navigate and work with both internal and external product, operations and marketing teams to drive successful partnership outcomes
  • Develop deep relationships with key partners that fit into our go-to-market master plan
  • Understand business model implications and communicate in a financially grounded way

What You'll Need

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in strategy, business development, marketing and/or strategic sales
  • Experience working with large consumer brands in a partnership or business development capacity
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with heavy internal stakeholder management with product, operations, and marketing teams to drive successful results
  • Demonstrated achievement in creating and executing on partnerships
  • Thorough understanding of a variety of business models (we're still proving ours)
  • Proven as a self-starter, demonstrated resourcefulness and initiative to seize opportunities
  • Excellent use of insights and data-driven decision making
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify and provide comprehensive solutions for varying partner needs, and ability to communicate to senior management and the broader organization
  • Strategic thinking, analytical aptitude, and creativity are necessary for this role. Must be comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Sincere, meticulous, adaptable, and dedicated team-player who gets energy from building new businesses
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred
  • Flexible on location - candidates based in SF, NY, or Chicago preferred
