Instructional Designer - Uber Freight

You'll use your instructional design and writing ability to create rich, immersive content that reaches hundreds of employees. This content will be experienced by everyone from new employees to seasoned managers. You'll collaborate with Trainers and other Instructional Designers in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where your creativity can shine.

What You'll Do

  • Design and create learning materials to support multiple delivery channels (eLearning, mobile, video, podcast, webinar and instructor-led)
  • Develop new learning experiences that engage and excite Uber Freight employees
  • Build high-quality content that is effective and scalable
  • Write communications copy that is elegant, clear, concise, persuasive that excites engages and inspires learners
  • Partner with Training Specialists to develop and improve training content, provide feedback on existing programs
  • Simplify complex issues and develop clear scripts and storyboards for instructional videos and/or interactive courses
  • Prioritize substantial project lists, manage stakeholders on multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines
  • Be a key manager of the Uber LMS System, Absorb, and support the content management site, Confluence
  • Attend meetings to learn critical business updates, interact with global stakeholders across multiple time zones, effectively communicate and maintain relationships with remote subject matter experts
  • Shadow team members across various job functions to see learning gaps in action, and stay current on industry and team processes

What You'll Need

  • Experience designing adult learning content - specifically eLearning & interactive curriculum design
  • 3+ years of Instructional Design experience
  • Data-driven decision and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking
  • Solid understanding of Instructional Design principles: ADDIE, Bloom's Taxonomy, Kirkpatrick's evaluation model, or other industry-recognized methods
  • Expertise in content authoring and rapid design tools (e.g. Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Vidyard, Loom, Adobe Captivate)
  • Familiarity with software tools for content creation (e.g. audio recording/editing, video editing, animation, graphics, screen captures)
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects and deliverables within tight timelines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, managing input while owning and driving the development timeline forward
  • Experience or knowledge of learning management systems (LMS)
  • Ability to translate data from feedback to improvements to both content and process

Bonus Points If:

  • Degree in Instructional Design or Curriculum Development
  • Experience in Logistics or Technology industries
  • Experience in UX, Graphic Design, or Learning Analytics
