Senior Marketplace Operations Manager, Uber Eats - UKI

Central Operations, Operations & Launch
in London, United Kingdom

About the Role

The Marketplace Operations team tackles some of the region's most complex problems, on behalf of all United Kingdom & Ireland ("UKI") markets. Projects often involve analysis with large data sets, creative problem-solving and being able to surface insights and conclusions to then reach high-impact game-changing solutions. For a tenacious truth-seeker, who is excited to solve the toughest problems, possesses exceptional analytical and stakeholder management skills, attention to detail and a desire to contribute to multipart projects at a regional scale, this is the team for you.

What You'll Do

Marketplace Operations specifically looks at how to make the Uber Eats marketplace efficient and reliable at the lowest possible cost while keeping all three sides of the marketplace engaged. By diving into issues such as marketplace forecasting, pricing and discounts, and optimal marketplace settings, you will surface insights and produce recommendations to develop new approaches, and operations and product strategies to run a healthy and balanced marketplace.

  • You'll proactively surface opportunities to drive operational excellence in the region and implement and execute processes and product features to capitalise on these opportunities
  • You'll examine issues and opportunities in great detail, and use data and insights to recommend sound business decisions, and design mitigation plans in the event the business is adversely impacted
  • You'll earn credibility amongst a diverse group of stakeholders - local and regional Marketplace Operations teams around the world, and the Product, Engineering and Data Science organisations in San Francisco and NYC - and ensure projects continue moving to their completion despite tight deadlines

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor or advanced degree in Business Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics, or equivalent
  • Minumum of 3 years of relevant experience, having managed stakeholders and demonstrated a natural ability to adapt to a fast-moving working environment
  • Robust data analytics skills:
  • SQL - build complex tables & queries
  • Advanced Spreadsheet modelling
  • Passion for solving ambiguous and complex problems
  • Ability to translate complex analytics into clear, concise and actionable communications
