About the Role

US and Canada Community Operations (US&C CommOps) is part of the Global Community Operations organization which provides premier customer support to all Uber customers and Uber products. The Strategy & Planning (S&P) team is a core part of driving the future of the US&C CommOps organization; this Business Planning Manager will be responsible for all the PMO related activities for the high priority strategic projects within CommOps. The role is a crucial part of this team and calls for a rare combination of creative problem solving, detail orientation, and interpersonal ability to manage internal stakeholders.

What You'll Do

The role encompasses the ability to structure, coordinate, and guide initiatives at the global and local level, as well as find ways to effectively communicate to all levels of stakeholders (from most junior, up to highest level executives). Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Project Planning and Goal Setting:
    • Ensure the consistent application of Community Operations' strategy and vision while considering each stakeholder's unique challenges, needs, and priorities
    • Add structure and process to how we build and run key programs across the organization, ensuring projects and programs align with strategic initiatives
  • Project Execution and Governance:
    • Track dependent and independent deliverables for completing tasks on schedule
    • Identify project risks, blockers, and dependencies early, then work with stakeholders to overcome and drive projects forward
    • Communicate milestones and roadmap on a regular basis to keep Community Operations informed of projects' status
    • Create processes and tools to guide project and program execution
    • Attention to detail and structured approach is a must, in order to build trust with a wide set of stakeholders and to keep large complex projects on time and budget

What You'll Need

  • 3-5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: program management, project management, operations
  • Unparalleled business judgment and critical thinking skills with the ability to use financial and operational data to quickly establish highest value priorities and develop a strategy to pursue them
  • Experience working closely and communicating effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders in an ever-changing, rapid growth environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong experience managing and executing on complex projects
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to quickly adjust to changing stakeholder or organizational needs
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • The ability to synthesize information quickly, highlight the key takeaways, and disseminate actionable insights
  • Comfortable owning and juggling multiple projects or workstreams at once
