Uber's Global Trade Compliance team is based in San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Amsterdam, and soon to be Hong Kong. We hold the line on financial sanctions, embargoes, customs/import, export controls, and anti-boycott across Uber's worldwide footprint. We provide dynamic compliance insight and regulatory expertise along with operational support to all Uber business units, at the cutting edge of Uber's global initiatives to change the way the world thinks about transportation. What You'll Do

  • * Manage a team of global sanctions screening specialists, including two Centers of Excellence in Phoenix, AZ and Krakow, Poland working on potential sanctioned party match reviews.
    • Act as team representative and subject matter expert in payments compliance projects: UberMoney, licensing, global regulatory and financial services-facing product launches.
    • Expand the sanctions screening and compliance function to work cross-functionally with payments risk, operational compliance, and SOX compliance teams.
    • Integrate and improve existing sanctions matching rules, systems, and tools for maximum efficiency with processing focused on screening of individual natural persons and small businesses.
    • Advise business partners on best practices for data collection, data storage, and PII protection to facilitate necessary compliance screening functions.

What You'll Need

  • 7+ years experience in global trade compliance transactions, import/export, payments, sanctions compliance and screening.
  • Strong classifications experience with Export Controls laws (ECCNs) and Tariffs regulations. Expertise in import/export operations, program management, building a global compliance program and scaling for enhanced regional compliance.
  • 5+ years experience reviewing Restricted Parties Screenings hits.
  • Familiarity with an ERP system such as Oracle Global Trade Management or SAP for order processing, sanctions screening tools like Oracle RPLS Workbench.
  • Sanctions compliance certification and/or CAMS certification preferred. Professional Export/Import certification(s) not required but preferred.
