About the Role

As a Senior Data Analyst for the Global Customer Engagement and Platform Strategy team you will play an active role in shaping and implementing the product data science agenda across all consumer facing products.

What You'll Do

  • Internalize and deeply understand Uber's mission and strategies, as well as the mission and objectives of your team
  • Own data analysis and visualization, and communicate the outcomes/insights to various stakeholders to aid strategic decisions for improvements
  • Create dashboards and reports to regularly communicate experimental results, ad-hoc deep dives, and monitor key metrics to internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Uber internal stakeholders, including the product operations, finance, legal, policy, and global operations teams to ensure that our technology supports Uber's business objectives globally

What You'll Need

  • MS in Math, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other quantitative field preferred (advanced degrees are a plus)
  • Must have 4+ years of industry experience outside of academic or internship setting in a quantitative analysis role
  • Advanced SQL expertise; experience in a scripting language for analysis (R, Python, etc) is a plus
  • Deep working experience with Spark
  • Strong storytelling ability, able to distill interesting and hard-to-find insights into compelling, concise data stories
  • Highly detailed oriented and must display a passion for analytics, reporting and data visualization
  • Research mindset with a bias towards action and able to structure a project from idea to experimentation to prototype to implementation
  • Ability to deliver on tight timelines and move quickly with cross-functional teams to execute on decisions while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent business acumen. Ability to communicate effectively and manage relationships with stakeholders coming from both technical and non-technical backgrounds

About the Team

The Global Customer Engagement Strategy team is a new team at Uber responsible for pushing our thinking beyond the here and now: working cross functionally to evolve our systems, approach, processes and goals to deliver long-term customer value across business lines, uniting our cross-platform investments and leveraging our scale. This team is at the center of innovation; developing humanizing and personalized incentive strategies to engage and retain customers across all Uber platforms. It will also define the platform growth strategies behind our new business offerings that will increase access to our platform for new customer segments and use cases.
