About the Role

The Sales Finance analyst role is a unique opportunity to help build our International Deal Desk in Amsterdam, supporting our teams in EMEA, Asia and the Americas. The Deal Desk is the nerve center for all things restaurant partner related with a primary focus on supporting our Sales teams with restaurant acquisition.

In this role, you will oversee operational deal support, help define best-in-class approval processes, perform reporting and analytics of our Sales finance function, and support various pricing projects. In doing so, you'll make a direct impact by bringing more restaurants to our platform and connecting them with our growing customer (eater) base. On a daily basis you will work with a wide range of stakeholders from different departments and countries, in- and outside of finance. Due to the strategic importance of pricing and partnerships for driving profitable growth, you will have exposure to regional leadership.

In this role you will be based in Amsterdam and become a valued member of EMEA's strategic finance team.

About the team

The International Deal Desk based in Amsterdam is growing as our Eats business continues to scale and we seek to further evolve our pricing, partnership and contract governance. The Deal Desk is the nerve center for all things restaurant partner related with a primary focus on supporting our Sales teams with restaurant acquisition. The deal desk supports teams and countries in EMEA, but also in Asia and the Americas. The deal desk will have a key role in buttoning up governance at a global level, set the standard / best practices in the areas of pricing and partnership acquisition and will increasingly become a key partner to the local country and sales teams as they continue to grow available selection to our customers/eaters.

What you'll do

  • Work within our Global Deal Desk Team based in Amsterdam, part of the exciting and hyper growth business that is UberEats;
  • Partner with Sales, Sales Ops, Product, Tax and Legal teams on structuring restaurant deals and contracts. Be an advisor to stakeholders on financial impact of new restaurant partner acquisition and reconcile this with our financial and commercial targets;
  • Coordinate/own the approval flows for the operational deal desk; you will make sure deals are structured in line with strategic guidelines and that exceptions are surfaced and properly reviewed;
  • Innovate and streamline our deal approval workflow while ensuring controls are adhered to;
  • Own and develop a series of tools, reports and financial models that help to analyze and identify opportunities across customer segments and which support strategic decision making including key account acquisition;
  • Collaborate with data teams to build our data pipeline and enhance our ability to query and report important KPI's for both sales and financial metrics;
  • Establish pricing best practices through impactful price sensitivity and elasticity analyses;
  • Support Sales Finance forecasting efforts, helping to draft in depth planning for the region as a basis for effective allocation of sales team resources/efforts and investments;
  • Month-end close support: Help finance colleagues to understand the impact of (new) deals and pricing on our monthly margin development by building out new tools and analytical support;

What you Need

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with a strong track record in sales finance, business analytics, pricing, or similar roles which combine commercial insight with analytical skills
  • Bias for action; self starter who likes managing projects from design to implementation
  • Great attention to detail and ability to connect the dots. You can effortlessly switch between strategic and operational level;
  • Highly curious and quick learner who thrives in a dynamic fast-paced environment
  • Sound business judgment through analytical thinking and data-driven decision making
  • Excellent communication and people skills - numbers are key, but a business is built with people. Relationship building and adept communication are assets in our fast-moving environment
  • Advanced Excel/G-Sheets necessary, and SQL skills are preferred. Must be open to learning SQL if not currently proficient
  • Experience with Salesforce is highly preferred but not essential
  • Must be flexible with schedule - partnering with Asia and the Americas can result in meetings a little earlier & later than the typical workday
