Senior Systems Engineer -DDI

About the Role

As a Sr Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the architecture, development and deployment of DDI on Microsoft and Bluecat platforms. You will be responsible for the release of new features, rules, workflows, tasks and functionality on Bluecat DDI and also integrating with Microsoft DNS and Bind platforms. You are expected to use your experience to monitor system performance and identify potential identity violations, and strong SQL development skills to integrate and develop custom integration solutions to backend systems.

What You'll Do

  • Engineer, configure, implement and maintain DDI Platform spanning Bluecat and Microsoft platforms
  • Resolve bugs through strong programming, critical problem solving, database query skills
  • Maintain and manage Platform Services and code base
  • Implement, maintain, manage and troubleshoot operational issues and provide Tier 0 oncall support
  • Provide thorough, detailed investigations using various support platforms (email, chat, phone) to develop case details, analyze evidence, and present recommendations for internal actions to key stakeholders
  • Use Python and .Net platforms to provide programming support
  • Develop CLI tools, API interfaces with Python, Java and Flask Python platforms
  • Maintain excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism while delivering best-in-class customer service
  • Employ critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills to navigate high severity incidents

What You'll Need

  • BS Computer Science or equivalent, with a specialty in systems engineering, SQL high-available database technologies, DNS, DHCP and IPAM
  • Programming experience Python or Flask Python
  • 3+ Years working experience in Devops, Linux, Puppet and Infrastructure automation
  • 5+ years of customer support or relevant prior experience in troubleshooting, managing, mission-critical, urgent and high-priority issues.
  • Understand Role-Based Access Control, Policy-Based Access Control, Attribute-based access control, Governance in driving the platform to maturity.
  • Experience in managing Windows and Linux based systems, Config management
  • Experience in Web and Middleware technologies such as Nginx, Tomcat, Weblogic
  • Skill set in traffic management, Service and Session Load balancing skills primarily on HAProxy, NLB and F5 are added benefit
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish trust with internal/external partners
  • Organized, self-driven, and comfortable handling a large caseload
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • MS Computer Science or equivalent
  • Relevant Certifications from the Industry and Technology such as Bluecat, CISSP, Microsoft, Infoblox

About the Team

Our Corpsys, IAM and Core Platform Team is responsible for running Core system services such as DNS, DHCP, IPAM, LDAP, Load Balance platforms for all internal systems and responsible for running IAM program governance for all Uber internal applications, microservices, and APIs. We keep Uber moving by providing authentication and authorization technologies, cryptography services and core technology services to various teams at Uber. This role requires a technology owner responsible for our DDI stack that comprises of Bluecat and Microsoft DNS, DHCP Hybrid environment and require experience and skills to drive growth forecast and roadmap.
