About the Role

The Strategic Projects Lead will deliver high priority strategic projects across the CommOps organization. Based in San Francisco, but working with teams around the world, this role will apply structured thinking to critical business questions, generate insights and develop strategic initiatives and projects to improve Uber's operations.

You will lead a team of Associates and deliver the strategic vision behind region-wide decisions related to our community's support experience. You should have team management experience, excellent analytical skills, excellent time-management and cross-functional leadership skills, and the ability to clearly communicate and present information for stakeholders at all levels of the business. You should have successfully implemented organization wide projects and programs in your career.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and drive key strategic initiatives that will materially move the CommOps organization into the future
  • Own and manage large scale support projects and programs through piloting and incubation across your team
  • Coordinate with other members of the CommOps team and other functional teams (Product, Marketing, Finance, etc) to measure the impact and efficiency of new products and business processes
  • Develop analytical frameworks and define new processes to support Uber's growth in new markets and products
  • Identify operational challenges and help improve or pioneer new processes to keep local teams as efficient as possible
  • Develop high profile communications and presentations targeted to Uber's leadership

What You'll Need

  • BA/BS, Masters in Economics, Business, Engineering or other quantitative fields

  • At least 6 years of strategy consulting, operations or related experience

  • Excellent communication and organization skills

  • Experience managing a team

  • Team player able to work cross functionally

  • Balance attention to detail with swift implementation - we need to do things quickly, and we need to do them well

  • Self-starter - comfort with independently scoping and running projects and creatively overcoming challenges to drive to impact

  • Comfort with data and data analytics

  • Past ownership of projects from planning to successful implementation

  • Comfortable owning and managing multiple projects or work streams at once
