Global Strategy & Planning Manager

About the Role

The Global Strategy & Planning Manager will deliver high priority strategic projects across the Community Operations organization, which is responsible for providing customer support globally. Based in San Francisco, but working with teams around the world, this role will apply structured thinking to critical business questions, run deep analyses, generate insights and develop strategic initiatives and projects to improve Uber's operations.

You will lead a team of Associates and facilitate the analyses behind company-wide decisions related to our community's support experience. You should have team management experience, excellent analytical skills, excellent time-management and cross-functional leadership skills, and the ability to clearly communicate and present information for stakeholders at all levels of the business.

What You'll Do

  • Run analyses on regional and globe-spanning projects that allow and enable Uber's leadership to take strategic decisions
  • Coordinate with other members of the Community Operations Team and Other functional teams (Product, Marketing, Finance, etc) to measure the impact and efficiency of new products and business processes
  • Develop analytical frameworks and define new processes to support Uber's growth in new markets and products
  • Identify operational weaknesses and help improve or pioneer new processes to keep local teams as efficient as possible
  • Develop high profile communications and presentations targeted to Uber's leadership

What You'll Need

  • BA/BS/MBA,Masters in Economics, Business, Engineering or other quantitative fields
  • At least 8 years of strategy consulting, operations or related experience
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Experience managing a team
  • Team player able to work cross functionally
  • Balance attention to detail with swift implementation - we need to do things quickly, and we need to do them well. Balancing those can be challenging, and this should be a strength
  • Self-starter - the ability to self-serve, investigate and get the data we require will make you much more effective in this role. Self-starter attitude is a must!
  • Exceptional Excel / data skills - many say they are great at Excel, fewer truly are. Impressive know-how (and the understanding that there's always more to learn)
  • Advanced PowerPoint/Presentations skills
