About the Role

This position is required to build and release all requested maps and deliver up to expected quality, as well as support tool testing and storage infrastructure support as needed. Required to operate all tooling, binary and workflow pipelines, necessary to complete map build and releases. Technical aptitude to understand data compute standard outputs to debug tooling failures in order to identify root causes. Experience with linux operating systems and writing simple scripts to manipulate data and automate tasks. Work closely with Software and Systems Engineers to communicate requirements for tools features and bug fixes.

What You'll Do

  • Complete map builds, map updates, traffic log updates, and manage data flow processes through the life cycle of tool pipelines
  • Release maps and manage data flow processes through the life cycle of tool pipelines
  • Complete beta and regression testing for map production and map technical operations tooling and applications
  • Document SOP for map build and release pipelines
  • Contribute to workflow pipeline updates to optimize production and improve quality
  • Document regression testing steps and coordinate beta testing amongst map production and map technical operations
  • Provide tier 1 technical support for mapstore servers, which includes identifying high i/o users, identifying bad disks, and restarting servers.

What You'll Need

  • Advanced GIS experience, creating custom workflows and scripts that are used in a production environment
  • Experience with raster data manipulation and/or visual analysis, preferably lidar point cloud data
  • Strong technical background and scripting experience, bash and python preferred
  • Comfortable executing tools using command line/prompt tools, Linux operating system experience preferred
  • Enjoys problem solving and root causing mapping issues independently and communicating that information concisely and clearly to Software Engineers and Map Production stakeholders
  • The ability to troubleshoot technical issues encountered by end users and resolve or communicate to the appropriate engineering team
