About the Role

UberWorks operates as a startup within Uber - we have ambitious goals and objectives and need a strong, action-oriented Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of the team, you will help shape the product and strategic direction.

What You'll Do

  • Source and screen quality workers
    • You'll be responsible for creating, executing and updating our supply model.
    • You and your team will be 100% responsible for the recruiting, screening, and onboarding of our worker-partners
  • Design an interview process that efficiently processes a high quantity of applicants and onboards the best worker partners possible
    • Take a data-driven approach to make sure that your supply acquisition is evolving with the market - Think outside of the box and experiment creatively, but let data drive your decisions
  • Manage vendor relationships
    • We use a number of vendors for different services along our supply chain, you will be responsible for managing those relationships for success
  • Onboard workers and manage worker engagement
    • As worker partners complete their way through the interviewing and approval process that you've designed, you and your team will have a constant flow of workers to onboard
    • You'll need to design a process that educates and empowers our worker partners to engage rapidly and fully with our partner businesses
  • Design, execute and update our worker engagement strategy
    • We need our worker partners excited about our product, and you will help shape how we do that
  • Forecast supply needs
    • Provide a 4 week rolling forecast (updated weekly) of supply forecasts by each worker role
    • This insight will enable our Ops team to manage reliability
  • Lead a team of onboarding coordinators
    • Set weekly team goals, hold 1:1 meetings, provide regular coaching and feedback, and motivate a team of contingent workers to achieve supply acquisition goals

What You'll Need

  • Minimum 2+ years experience managing a team
  • Grit, and willingness to roll up your sleeves and tackle something hands-on; you persevere when others fall away
  • Strong interest in the on-demand space
  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Attention to detail balanced with swift execution - we need to do things quickly, and we need to do them well
  • A self-starter attitude
  • Unafraid to challenge the status quo
