Fleet Services Diesel Mechanic

About the Role:

The Fleet Service Diesel is responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining all of Uber ATG's scenario testing vehicles. This position will service many different vehicle OEM's and types of vehicles.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform weekly inspections of all scenario vehicles
  • Diagnose vehicle condition, identify & repair worn or damaged parts
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on scenario vehicles (ie: oil & filter changes, other fluid changes & fills, regular inspections)
  • Diagnose, repair, maintain, and inspect heavy diesel vehicles such as semi-trucks, box trucks, flatbed trucks, bread trucks, and city buses
  • Communicate updates to all applicable teams

What You'll Need:

  • 5-8 years of heavy diesel vehicle repair & maintenance experience
  • Mechanical aptitude, demonstrated problem solving & repair
  • Understanding of many different types of heavy diesel vehicles
  • Understanding of electrical systems, engines, transmissions, and all working parts of all types of vehicles
  • Ability to research, diagnose, and make repairs to vehicles with limited resources
  • Knowledge/understanding of FMCSA & DOT regulations
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, take initiative and prioritize work
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with other team members in different locations
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Experience with Windows, Mac or Linux OS
  • Experience with various scan tools or diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to travel

Bonus Points If:

  • Completed a program of study in Diesel Technology
  • Possess a Class A or B CDL
  • ASE certification
  • PA State Inspection & Emissions Licenses
  • Experience with Phabricator, Jira or Google Suite
