About the Role
Uber is looking for a Head of Business Development to lead our strategic partnerships efforts in Canada. You will be building key two-way partnerships with major brands in sports & entertainment, technology players, financial and enterprise institutions that drive awareness, engagement, and retention on our platform.
The role will report into the Head of Strategic Initiatives and US/Canada Business Development (BD) located in Uber's HQ in San Francisco. This "US&C" BD group works closely with Uber's Product, Policy and Operations groups in creating strategy around core business and product initiatives and then develops and executes partnership deals to help realize those initiatives.
The successful candidate will work as part of the US&C BD team, but even closer day-to-day with the Uber Canada leadership team to refine those corporate initiatives into what's needed for the Canadian market; as well as create new ideas and relationships specific for Canada.
This is not a Sales role. In fact, we are quite often the party funding the partnership in exachange for special rights, access and/or technology. Thus, we're looking for experienced deal-makers with a successful track record in high-end partnership creation.
Successful candidates will bring a dynamic combination of IQ and EQ, an ability to think strategically and execute tactically, and strong interpersonal skills to maximize value in partnership negotiations. We're looking for someone with a natural ability to inspire and lead an ambitious team. This team will establish and develop strategic partnerships that support a variety of high-priority Uber initiatives in Canada.
