Sr. Paralegal, Marketing & Advertising

About the Role

We are looking for a Sr. Paralegal who can help the team support the business more effectively by creating and managing new processes and systems. We would also rely on this person to assist with contract or creative reviews for the Rides team.

What You'll Do

  • Provide ongoing legal support for Uber's various marketing and advertising activities, including but not limited to by reviewing and drafting marketing copy and disclosures (e.g., discount offers, promotions, etc.)
  • Update and maintain marketing playbooks and guidelines based on applicable laws, rules, and regulatory guidance
  • Assist in managing all aspects of Uber's marketing compliance obligations, including by coordinating with various businesses and functions across Uber on various training and record-keeping initiatives

What You'll Need

  • 8+ years of experience in either a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Excellent business judgment, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with marketing and advertising law preferred
  • Technical Savvy - can create/use Word documents, Excel templates, Adobe Acrobat, Google Drive, e-signing tools and open to learning/exploring new technical tools to help the team
  • Adept at creating and executing searches across vast repositories of data; you've got a strong understanding of how databases work and are agile enough to put that to use on unfamiliar systems and platforms. Experience with contract / creative management systems a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills. You know how to communicate clearly in writing, and in speech.
  • Highly motivated and detail focused
  • Able to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment, both collaborating as a team to stay in sync and working independently to get the job done

About the Team

Fostering compliance with marketing and advertising laws; counseling on various marketing and promotional initiatives, including cause marketing, sweepstakes and contests, digital and affiliate marketing, and social media; working on marketing, promotional and sponsorship agreements; and helping Uber promote its brand and communicate to riders, drivers, and the public at large about its products and services.
