We are growing our safety team to drive focus on this priority. This team will set the strategy and drive innovation across the business to raise the bar on safety in transportation space and build public trust in our commitment to safety.

The Safety Manager will be the primary safety liaison and business partner between the national ops teams, cross-functional teams and HQ Trust & Safety to launch products, processes, and policies in South Cone and LatAm

What You'll Do

  • Take ownership for partner-driver and rider safety in LatAm and more specifically in South Cone (Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay) to ensure that Uber is the ridesharing platform of choice when it comes to safety
  • Partner with Safety Product to launch solutions for riders and partner-drivers in the region
  • Manage, monitor and analyze safety-related incidents and trends, investigating suspicious activity and behavior, identifying risks to Uber, partner-drivers and riders, and proposing ops or product solutions
  • Design and implement process for early identification of trends and/or escalations in safety incidents and collaborate with stakeholders across the business to address in a proactive fashion
  • Design and implement scalable process and initiatives to improve safety on the platform
  • Set and develop best practice standards in the region, and ensure maintenance and continuous improvement of these
  • Build productive and successful relationships with ops and functional leadership and other relevant stakeholders
  • Understand the regional objectives and plans and advise on potential safety implications
  • Translate the impact of safety programs into business operations outputs and advocate for safety interventions and awareness in the region
  • Participate in other special projects/assignments as necessary

What You'll Need

  • 4 Minimum Years of Experience
  • Autonomous way of working. This person will not be leading a team
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Preference given to those already proficient in Excel, and data analysis
  • Demonstrated leadership on projects and initiatives at your organization
  • Attention to detail and comfort with ambiguity in an ever-changing environment
  • Passion for problem solving and delivering creative solutions
