Head of CommOps, Uber Eats - India & S.A

About the Role

The India EATS CommOps lead will develop and lead efforts to build, operate, scale and improve customer experience and support operations for the India EATS business. The position will be driving strategic initiatives within the India EATS CommOps operations by demonstrating operational and analytical experience from challenging environments in the past, a strong data driven approach and an operational mindset to drive our business forward in the country.

For this role you should have strong leadership and communication skills backed by a strong analytical ability, and excellent time-management and organizational skills. We're looking for someone who can set a vision and can solve problems from 30,000 feet as well as be able to dive deep into the details at once.

What You'll Do

  • Be a thought partner: Work with the operations teams on the ground in defining the support strategy for the business
  • Be a leader: Lead the team to achieve operational outcomes and deliver projects with significant business impact
  • Build relationships and handle partners: Collaborate with various levels of the operations team and other functional teams (engineering, people operations, legal, finance etc.) to ensure all the teams are rowing in the same direction to work on our toughest challenges
  • Drive data driven decision-making and process improvements: Work with the team to analyse numbers, surface patterns and draw out actionable insights, ultimately driving data-driven decisions and create efficiencies that are scalable with the business

What You'll Need

  • At least 10 years of investment banking / strategy consulting experience; some fast-growing operations or startup experience is strongly preferred
  • Ability to work with remote teams and across time zones to develop strategies and foster a cohesive and creative work environment
  • Exceptional communicator - you are a clear and concise communicator with the insight to synthesize a lot of information quickly, highlight the key takeaways, and disseminate actionable insights
  • A "driver" personality - biased toward action, great collaborator and master disambiguator/simplifier - constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery
  • Balance attention to detail with swift execution - we do things quickly, and we do them well. Balancing those can be challenging, and this should be a strength
  • Explorer - you have the ability to self-serve, investigate and get the data we require will make you much more effective in this role. Self-starter attitude is required!
  • A high bar across the board - from your own contributions to the people you work with to the products you work on
  • Grittiness - you never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and get into details hands-on; you persevere when others fall away
  • Bachelor's degree from top university; MBA highly preferred
  • Exceptional Excel / data management skills; SQL proficiency strongly preferred
