We are the Documents Team, part of the Driver Compliance organization, and our mission is to enable compliant trips by ensuring the documents driver partners upload are non-fraudulent, accurately transcribed, and safely stored.
Our platform is massive scale, supporting all of our approximately three million driver partners. Our technology understands the nuances of all the documents used to register a driver partner, from whether the document is Photoshopped to which bounding box on a particular driver's license stores the parter's date of birth. We are a cornerstone of Uber, developing a system flexible enough to support onboarding in the hundreds of places worldwide where Uber operates while at the same time secure enough to protect the PII of our driver partners from data leaks and breaches.
The Documents platform is also an integral part of providing a frictionless experience for onboarding new driver partners, ensuring they can start earning money on the Uber platform as soon as possible. This include both providing a first-class experience for agents to manually transcribe information from uploaded documents as well as creating innovative technology to reduce the need for manual transcription.
The Documents platform is a mature service that is actively running the Uber business. However, we are seizing a unique opportunity in 2019 to reimagine our platform to more seamlessly support future Uber businesses beyond just rideshare. We are growing and looking for an experienced engineer to come in at the seed stages of creating our new and improved services.
