Role:

As an Engineering Manager || on the Ad Verticals Group, you will be responsible for leading a talented team of software engineers in designing, building and scaling some of Uber's ad offerings

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

  • Lead, mentor and manage a team of software engineers, ensuring they are motivated, challenged, and productive.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product management, business & design to develop the product strategy/roadmap and execute on it.
  • Manage the team's backlog and ensure timely delivery of features.
  • Ensure the team's adherence to best practices and standards in software development.
  • Recruit, hire, and develop top engineering talent.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and provide regular updates on the team's progress and performance.
  • Help your team to stay ahead of emerging trends and technologies in the industry.

---- Basic Qualifications ----

  • Proven track record of managing a full-stack team of software engineers across various levels (junior to staff).
  • Strong technical background and hands-on experience in designing & building robust engineering products/platforms.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

  • A track record of delivering results in fast-paced and highly ambiguous environments.
  • A strong business sense and an ability to challenge and effectively partner with product managers and business stakeholders.
  • Experience leading large scale 0-1 initiatives.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a software engineer and 3 years of experience managing software engineers.
  • Experience in the digital advertising space building platforms or products is a plus.
