Sr. iOS Engineer - Uber Maps

Partners with stakeholders and leads team efforts to design, develop, and maintain complex user interfaces and features for mobile applications (iOS).

About the Team:

Uber business critically depends on the latest and most accurate map. The Maps Places team’s charter is to build solutions so that changes to points of interest, addresses and other map data are continuously ingested, enriched and refreshed while serving hundreds of thousands of concurrent trips by drivers and couriers all around the globe. Uber's world-class engineers are empowered to push the envelope in scalability, distributed systems, mobile development and high availability services.

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

  • Build experiences for couriers, eaters, riders, drivers and business partners to tell us when something needs to be fixed on the map
  • Work with backend engineers to develop end to end systems for acquiring user generated content
  • Develop mobile application modules for Ubers Rider, Driver and Eats apps used by millions of users every day

Minimum qualifications:

  • 3-years full-time Software Engineering work experience, WHICH INCLUDES 2-years total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:Native iOS, iOS swift, iOS objective C OR PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field

  • Note the 2-years total of specialized software engineering experience may have been gained through education and full-time work experience, additional training, coursework, research, or similar (OR some combination of these).  The years of specialized experience are not necessarily in addition to the years of Education & full-time work experience indicated.

  • Buck/Bazel
  • Cross-platform (iOS and Android)

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber’s cultural identity.
