Strategy & Planning Associate, Uber for Business

About the Role

The Uber for Business US&C Strategy & Planning Associate will generate insights, set the strategy, and ensure its execution by steering US&C leadership towards our #GoBig objectives.

To successfully do the previously mentioned three activities, the S&P Associate needs to be dedicated, curious, and have a logical and analytical train of thought, while being pragmatic and focusing on reaching our objectives. Being comfortable with change and challenges is key, as well as communicating insight to Directors, Managers, Reps, and even clients.

What You'll Do:

  • Generate insights: Based on the analysis, research, customer needs, feedback, and comments from our teams
  • Analyze: Dive deep into the data to identify areas for improvement as well as create recommendations that can be scaled out to our key global markets.
  • Observe and Reflect: As a critical problem solver, observe and understand current operations, processes, and trends. Ask the right questions, and call out the risks and opportunities.
  • Set the strategy: By prioritizing all the available paths and options, analyzing pros and cons, and defining and designing the best way to reach our objectives
  • Conceptualize:Build innovative, scalable solutions for sophisticated business problems touching many sides of the business.
  • Plan: Work with the Regional General Manager and his leadership team, to decide what gets prioritized and why. Undertake analysis, build business, and forecast the impact of regional and global projects. Define and run complex multi-workstream programs. Plug into Uber's global financial and product planning process.
  • Ensure execution: Communicate and set up a clear way forward - with breakthroughs, critical metrics and owners. Reassess and iterate to improve.
  • Liaise: Work multi-functionally across Sales, SalesOps, Product, Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Legal. Reporting to senior leadership on the progress of work streams and verticals, while flagging risks and opportunities.
  • Report & Communicate: Own and drive reports to inform results, being accountable for project outcomes and ensuring delivery on critical projects through periodical updates and analysis.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in consulting or strategy, project or operations management, or investment banking

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated, solutions-orientated, with a bias for action
  • Strong organization and time leadership skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills. An outstanding problem solver who loves seeking for solutions, and has a genuine curiosity about helping.
  • Proven project management skills, comfortable working independently at times
  • Basic financial proficiency, comfortable understanding P&Ls
  • Skilled working with Excel/data, SQL proficiency strongly preferred
  • Standout colleague and great teammate with the ability to work multi-functionally across functions to design and implement business optimization processes
  • Phenomenal collaborator, and someone who proactively works across teams, able to influence senior and external customers
  • Passionate about mobility, delivery, and the intersection between the physical and the digital world, in a B2B context

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber's cultural identity. Unless formally approved to work fully remotely, Uber expects employees to spend at least half of their work time in their assigned office. For certain roles, such as those based at green-light hubs, employees are expected to be in-office for 100% of their time.
