Frontend Engineer - Uber's Service Management Platform

The Service, Config, and Deployment team builds Uber's microservice platform managing the lifecycle and the deployment of config and code for all the microservices running in Uber's data centers. Our mission is to build a microservice platform that enables product engineers to create, scaffold, deploy, scale, and manage their services and related infrastructure reliably, safely and easily.

A Bit About Us

We manage 1000s of microservices running all of Uber's business logic for handling trips, food orders, freight, and more. Our microservice platform spans across Uber's on-prem data centers as well as our cloud zones in Amazon and GCP. Our platform consists of a Go backend and a Javascript frontend with a strong focus on clean, readable code with unit and integration test coverage. All code changes are peer-reviewed. We write design specs to make sure we collect the feedback from the team members and share the knowledge.

We have great opportunities ahead to provide Uber's engineers with a best in class cloud-like experience for managing their services. We are building a truly globally distributed system that enables our product engineers to seamlessly scale their services without worrying about underlying infrastructure. Engineers on the team have a direct impact on the way our system looks and feels like. They talk directly with our users and stakeholders to ensure all needs are met and the users are productive and happy.

Our team consists of a healthy combination of both junior and senior engineers with a broad range of experiences across the industry. We value ideas over hierarchy, getting things done and having a measurable impact on the business. We work closely with our stakeholder teams in San Francisco, Palo Alto, Seattle, New York, Amsterdam and other locations across the world.

At Uber, we reimagine the way the world moves for the better. The idea was born on a snowy night in Paris in 2008, and ever since then, our DNA of reimagination and reinvention carries on. We've grown into a global platform moving people and things in ever-expanding ways, taking on big problems to help drivers, riders, delivery partners, and eaters make movement happen at the push of a button for everyone, everywhere.

We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently. If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let's move the world forward, together.
